Steel cased ammo earns a bad reputation here based upon excessive fouling resulting from the lacquer coating that has to be placed on the steel cases to prevent corrosion and aid in extraction and ejection. This lacquer coating builds up in the chambers. Experiments with Polymer coatings have only been marginally better.
