ABOUT CERRA Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, & Advancement Located on the campus of Winthrop University Founded in 1985, CERRA is the oldest and most established teacher recruitment program in the country Funded by the SC General Assembly through the Commission on Higher Education (CHE) Our Mission: Recruiting, Retaining, and Advancing South Carolina Educators | CERRA is the oldest and most established teacher recruitment program in the country. CERRA, the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement, is a leading organization in Rock Hill, SC, dedicated to the recruitment and development of teachers. The fellowship provides up to $5700 for tuition and direct education expenses (including room and board) and $300 for specific enrichment programs administered by CERRA. All Teaching Fellows awards are contingent upon funding from the SC General Assembly.
